Discover and enjoy the best of Dorset - by bike
What we do (and why we do it!)
We host biking weekends and organise bike tours across Dorset. We create open events which you can join, or we will design something specific for your group.
So whether you are an individual, a couple, a small gang of friends or a bigger biking group, we have an adventure waiting for you to enjoy.
We concentrate on off-road biking because that is what we love, and the countryside here is perfect for gravel and mountain bikes.
WE are Hugh Ross and Prue Murray-Ross. Hugh has been mountain-biking for 30 years and has organised many weekends and adventures for his friends over the decades. He introduced Prue to off-road biking when they met in 2017, and this quickly became a shared passion. He qualified as a mountain bike leader in 2023.
Prue has run Gites in France for over 15 years and is steeped in hospitality and catering.
So when we moved into a lovely spacious house in North East Dorset the idea of putting all these elements together into a biking holiday business seemed like a ‘no-brainer’!

Why Dorset?
Between us we have biked in all sorts of well known MTB locations: France, Spain, Italy, Greek islands, Scotland, Wales, Lake District, Northumbria, Yorkshire etc …
And yet whenever we come back to Dorset we find ourselves amazed at our good fortune to have found this place.
Our nearest local challenge is Hambledon Hill, an iron age fort with 360 degree views. Climbing that at the end of a ride is one of the best experiences, especially knowing that a decent pub and pint are only 5 minutes away!

Why Dorset Bike Adventures?
We created this business for three reasons:
we love off-road riding,
we live in a little-known and beautiful part of Dorset and
we really like to share both those things with our guests!
We are based in the picturesque village of Iwerne Minster in North East Dorset, where we also provide self-catering and B&B accommodation. This unique setting allows us to offer a relaxed, personalised experience, with many rides starting directly from our door, and with good hospitality being a key part of what we offer.
Whatever your skill level or riding-style preference we can find and create an adventure for you.
So dive in, have a good look round, and please feel free to call us (07436 132509) or send a message if you have any questions. There are no BOTS here, just human beings who like to talk!
